Kid finds estranged parents dead in Slidell home with gun.
On Saturday, one of the couple's children found them dead at their house east of Slidell, along with a gun near their bodies. The couple had been estranged for some time.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, the boy dialled 911 just before 9:30 a.m. and reported that both of his parents were unresponsive and bleeding, respectively. "After what seems to have been a domestic altercation," the Sheriff's Office stated, deputies found the man and woman in a bedroom in the 1300 block of Belair Boulevard with a handgun in the immediate vicinity.
The mansion, which was located close to the north of Royal Golf Club, was also occupied by two of the couple's children at the time.
The deceased have not been named in a public statement. According to the authorities, they placed a call to the Department of Children and Family Services in Louisiana in order to take care of the youngsters.
The Sheriff's Office did not immediately make any additional information available to the public.
